Acey Lynn Smith

After 31 hours in the hospital little Acey Lynn was born. 21 inches 6.6lbs
Mother and daughter are doing well. On Friday Acey was showing signs of jaundice so she couldn't go home with Kelsey on Saturday morning. But Kelsey did make it to her Baby Shower on Saturday and after all the presents were opened she was able to go see her baby and bring her home. All is well.:)

Baby Girl Smith is ALMOST here!

So last night at about 9pm I called Kelsey, my sister, to see if she knew she needed to pick a pediatrician before she delivered. (Her due date was originally May 23rd but it got moved up May 10th due to her baby girl getting so big so fast.) So, obiviously things were coming fast for this first time mom... I figured I check up as her older sis and help her out...
My mom helped her decorate her baby room. They have been working on it for a month or two.
They made all the bedding, the picture and put it all up last weekend...who knew it would be JUST IN TIME!

After informing her last night about the pediatrician... I got a text at 3:32am, it read:
Guess it's too late to pick a pediatrician cuz my water just broke!!!!
AHHHH what? I had to reread it. Holy cow, my sis is having her baby... So I didn't get much sleep after that cuz I'm super excited! An entire month early, I guess it doesn't matter that we are sisters we have babies way different! Not sure what is going to happen with the Baby Shower... since it's supposed to be on Saturday!! Oh well, life goes on and so will the shower I suppose. I will give more details when Baby Girl Smith arrives!

Okay, Okay! It's a New Year... Let's move on!

Lots of stuff has happened over these last 5 months I haven't been blogging... maybe that's why I never have time to post! Read my shirt!
We're totally excited for baby BROTHER!
Besides the big news of a new baby on the way... Dan is still working hard towards graduating from Nursing school, working full time, and finds as much time to hang out with us as he can. I just finished the Phx Suns performance at the studio, now getting ready for baby and End of year recital. Lincoln is becoming the dictionary definition of the TERRRIBLE 2's... tantrums, yelling, stubborn, he's got it all. But he really is a good boy! Very smart and loves to sing and dance. We just can't wait for him to get out of this stage. He is now sleeping in a big boy bed and we tried potty training but I think I will wait a little longer.:)
Over Christmas break we went with the Kollards to the Phoenix Zoo!

To Infinity and Beyond!!!!

So of course, I love, love love to dress up... and growing up with Bobbi Rogers, for a mother you never had a lame costume. My costumes were always so creative and fun. So, I had to make my mom proud and with Lincoln being obsessed with Toy Story we went with Buzz Lightyear. My original plan was just to spice a store-bought-costume but WOW have you seen the Buzz costumes? Lame! (sorry if your child was Buzz with one of those costumes, I'm sure he was adorable!) Anyway, I decided I had to make him one from scratch. It was a long process and when he drew on it 2days before Halloween with a Sharpie. I thought I was going to die! Luckily it was only minorly damaged and I was able to fix it! Yeah me! So I have to say as I planned on being Jessie and Dan being Woody from Toy Story, I ran out of time!(I know what a shock) We went with the next best thing... next year I'll have to start in July to have our costumes ready!!!

Don't get the wrong idea, I loved making his costume and probably will continue to make them until he won't let me anymore! HAppY HaLLoWeEN!

Things we've been up to!

We'll start with birthday... Can't believe he is two. We invited a few people over to the park for pizza and playing, then went back to the house for present, cake and ice cream. He had a blast... thanks to everyone for coming... oddly we didn't get a picture of his tricycle. I'll have to do that soon! He got tons of Buzz Lightyear stuff and Thomas the train. He loved everything and especially opening the presents!

Found him throwing rocks in the water... what a boy

Just another trip to the dollar store... this time he got sunglasses!

What a cheeser!

So Lincoln is just figuring out the whole "camera" thing. Whenever he sees a camera, he now has to smile a big cheesy smile. No more "catching him doing silly things" pictures he stops whatever he is doing to be in the spotlight! I also have to say I was so excited to find that he can sing the last word to every line of "I am a Child of God" It might possibly be the cutest thing ever. He can also sing... Wheels on the Bus, Popcorn Popping, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. And then I found that without even focusing on it he has learned to count to ten! (I know these may be very normal things for a almost 2 year old but they are new to us and I must document them since I am a horrible journal keeper.) He just talks and talks it is so awesome to see him grow!

Most mornings Lincoln is crying/whining when he wakes up he just yells "Mommy, Mommy!" The other morning I heard him crying, I mean really crying, so I went in and he jumped right up with tears in his eyes and a smile on his face he said "dare-ya-are" It was halarious! I am trying to teach him that he doesn't have to cry, that he can just call for me... it isn't working!

I've been busy... yet not really?

This summer only taught for 4 days! So... I've really not had much on my plate but I've been really having tons of fun with whatever has come my way. I been really into sewing lately. Thanks to other's blogs and websites I've found fun patterns and ideas that have inspired me.
Here is a list of things I've made so far:
3 aprons for Mother's Day
1 hooter hider for Tatum
3 baby blankets for uncoming showers
1 pillowcase to match Lincoln's room
1 crib sheet
1/16 of a quiet book (that is an ongoing project I just can't seem to finish!)

1bean bag chair

1 memory matching game

3 towels(not handmade) with applique and Lincoln's hand prints for Father's Day

Sorry I only have a few pics.... I will try to post more... can't spill the beans on some and forgot to take pics of others. Anyway, I've been having fun! I hope you enjoy. Maybe I'll just inspire someone else. Stay tuned for more...Happy crafting to all!

swimming!

We don't have access to a "real" swimming pool and our back yard is dirt at the moment so we have to venture to the front yard for some water fu n. We also did swim lessons at Stapely pool but the water was cold... Lincoln hated the water!
